Life involves losing people and gaining new ones. People are meant to be in our lives for specific periods, teaching us valuable lessons. While there are many sayings about why people come and go, they often don't address what happens when they're absent from our lives.
During these times, you grow and learn, often reflecting on the wonderful moments and experiences shared with those individuals.

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of genuinely reconnecting with someone who has always been like a sister to me. No matter what we were doing, it gave me a profound sense of belonging to have her by my side.
It was a bit nerve-wracking because I've been navigating significant life changes and felt unsure of myself. I wondered if our friendship would remain the same or if we were only meant to be in each other's lives for a certain time. Timing has been a recurring theme in my life.
Thankfully, Hannah and I are bonded. Yes, our bond is rooted in a quirky high school misfit camaraderie, but she brings out an authenticity in me that I haven't embraced in a long time. Did I hesitate and question myself? Absolutely, as doubt is a natural part of being human. Yet, Hannah helped dispel that doubt with her usual enthusiasm and a simple "let's go do this!"
Growing up, Hannah and I did nearly everything together. Outside of work and some classes, we were inseparable.
Sharing my story, one I'd hidden from myself for most of our lives, was heavy but liberating this past weekend. Hannah sensed something was amiss but never pressured me to open up. She understood what I needed: friendship, laughter, and a shared love for boybands.
There are few people I would never let leave my life, and Hannah is certainly one of them. Don't hesitate to express love to those who help you feel your best.
We are all constantly learning and growing. As someone I grew up with, I am incredibly grateful to have you in my life, no matter the circumstances or distance.
There's no one else I'd rather create nicknames with, go rollerblading, biking, hiking, enjoy snacks, play Just Dance, attend One Direction concerts, or do anything with. Thank you for your friendship and for always accepting and supporting me.
